Khwendo Kor’s Emergency Response 2025

As part of our ongoing response to community needs, Khwendo Kor distributed hygiene kits and direct cash assistance to families in District Swabi. This initiative was designed to safeguard health, ensure safety, and uphold the dignity of flood-affected and vulnerable households. The distribution of hygiene kits aimed to help families maintain proper sanitation and prevent the spread of diseases following the floods, while cash assistance enabled them to address urgent necessities and begin restoring their livelihoods. Particular focus was placed on supporting women-headed households and those facing heightened vulnerability. Khwendo Kor continues to stand with communities during times of crisis, addressing their immediate challenges while fostering long-term resilience and well-being for a more secure and sustainable future.

Khwendo Kor carried out the distribution of Direct Cash Assistance, Cash-for-Work and Hygiene Kits in Women headed Families at District Buner.This initiative aimed to promote health, safety, and dignity, particularly for flood-affected and vulnerable households.

The hygiene kits were provided to help families maintain basic cleanliness and reduce the risk of communicable diseases in the aftermath of the floods, while the cash assistance supported households in meeting their urgent needs and rebuilding their livelihoods. Special attention was given to the needs of women-headed families and those most at risk. Khwendo Kor remains committed to supporting communities during emergencies by addressing immediate needs and strengthening resilience for a healthier and more sustainable future.

Interschool Youth Sports Competition

Khwendo Kor, in collaboration with UNHCR, organized an Interschool Youth Competition at PSB-041-SB Jalala Camp. The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by an orientation session conducted by the field staff highlighting the significance of co-curricular activities. Such initiatives play a vital role in nurturing teamwork, physical fitness, creativity, innovation, communication skills, and respect for diverse opinions, while also fostering a strong sense of community and helping identify talented youth who can excel in the future. From the
Regional Office Mardan, prizes 🏆🥇🥈🥉 and appreciation certificates were awarded to the position holders in recognition of their outstanding performance.

Distribution of winter Shawls

Khwendo Kor (KK), with the support of UNHCR, distribute essential items among enrolled students at Haripur PSG-083-HR . The distribution included winter shawls for all students from KG to Grade 5, uniforms for Grade 4 and 5, and school bags for Grade 2.
The activity was carried out in the presence of PTC members, and the children were overjoyed to receive these much-needed items. They expressed heartfelt gratitude to Khwendo Kor and UNHCR staff for extending this support during the challenging times faced by Afghan refugees.

Khwendo Kor has extended critical support to 50 women-headed households severely impacted by the recent floods in District Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Each family received a comprehensive relief package consisting of non-food items (NFIs), essential food supplies, hygiene kits, women’s shawls, and warm blankets.

This intervention is designed to provide immediate assistance while helping affected families navigate the challenging process of recovery and rebuilding. Khwendo Kor remains steadfast in its commitment to standing with disaster-affected communities during these difficult times.

Khwendo Kor carried out a targeted emergency response in District Buner, distributing 150 relief kits to support women and girls affected by the recent floods. The assistance package included dignity kits and essential medicines to address immediate health, hygiene, and protection needs.

This intervention aims to safeguard the dignity, well-being, and resilience of vulnerable groups during the ongoing crisis. Khwendo Kor remains committed to delivering timely, effective, and community-centered support to disaster-affected populations.

GBV Response and Support Mechanisms One Day Training with District Grievance Redressal Committees, Contractors, E&SS/Gender and Social Specialists ( Batch #02 )

Khwendo Kor on 01-September-2025 successfully conducted second Batch training on GBV Response and Support Mechanisms in Shelton Rezidor Peshawar under the KP-Rural Accessibility Program (KP-RAP). The session brought together members of the District Grievance Redressal Committees, Contractors, Environmental & Social Safeguard (E&SS) Specialists, and Gender & Social Specialists to strengthen their knowledge and capacity in addressing issues related to Gender-Based Violence within the project framework.
During the training, participants were introduced to the different forms of GBV, its impacts on individuals and communities, and the importance of survivor-centered approaches. The discussions focused on reporting pathways, referral mechanisms, and the specific roles and responsibilities of District Grievance Redressal Committees in ensuring timely and sensitive redressal. Contractors and E&SS/Gender Specialists were also engaged on compliance with GBV protocols, creating a safe and respectful work environment, and aligning with Khwendo Kor’s Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) policy, which reflects the organization’s commitment to zero tolerance towards GBV and SEA.
Through interactive sessions, group work, and case studies, the training provided participants with practical knowledge and tools to deliver effective support and protection to survivors, while also building accountability and trust within communities. This initiative highlights Khwendo Kor’s continued efforts to establish safe spaces and inclusive systems for preventing and responding to GBV under KP-RAP.

Cheque Distribution Of Interest Free Loan

On the occasion of Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day, Khwendo Kor in collaboration with the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) organized a joint event in Bannu.
Speakers, including Malik Mir Muhammad Hayat Khan Mirbaz Barakzai, Qazi Asad ur Rehman (Khwendo Kor), Madam Shams Bibi, Malik Wasif Hayat Khan Mirbaz Barakzai (General Secretary, Bannu Youth Organization & VC Chairman), along with representatives from the Agriculture Department and Municipal Administration, highlighted the importance of youth empowerment, women’s participation, and collective responsibility for a stronger Pakistan. As part of this initiative, 200 young men and women in Bannu are being provided with interest-free small loans. These loans will enable them to start their own businesses, become self-reliant, and contribute to the prosperity and stability of Pakistan, rather than relying on others.
