Strengthening GBV Response & Support Mechanisms – Provincial Online Workshop | KP-RAP & Education Department KP
Khwendo Kor (KK), under the KP-RAP, successfully organized an Online Provincial Workshop on Strengthening GBV Response and Support Mechanisms at District and Provincial Levels in collaboration with the Education Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The workshop brought together District Education Officers (DEOs) and Assistant District Education Officers (ADEOs), both male and female, to enhance understanding, coordination, and compliance mechanisms for addressing Gender-Based Violence (GBV) .

Session 1:
Introduction to KP-RAP
Mr. Saleem, Sr. Education Specialist KP-RAP, provided an overview of KP-RAP objectives, scope, and its commitment to strengthening safe and inclusive education systems.
Session 2:
World Bank Good Practice Note & Related Protocols – Sensitization on GBV, SEA & SH
Ms. Zuhra Luqman, Gender Specialist KP-RAP, sensitized participants on Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA), and Sexual Harassment (SH), aligned with World Bank Good Practice Notes and compliance standards.
Session 3:
Violence Against Children in KP – Compliance Structure & Legal Framework
Mr. Ijaz Muhammad Khan, Chief Child Protection Officer (KPCP & WC), discussed the provincial child protection framework, legal provisions, and institutional compliance structures to safeguard children.
Session 4:
GBV Case Management Protocols & Service Directory
Ms. Zakia Majid, Project Manager Khwendo Kor (KK), presented the GBV case management flowchart, referral pathways, and service directory to ensure timely and survivor-centered response mechanisms.
The workshop concluded with an interactive Q&A and feedback session, reflecting strong engagement and commitment from district leadership to strengthen protective systems within schools.
This initiative marks an important step toward ensuring safe, inclusive, and accountable education environments across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Interschool Youth Sports Competition

Khwendo Kor, in collaboration with UNHCR, organized an Interschool Youth Competition at PSB-041-SB Jalala Camp. The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by an orientation session conducted by the field staff highlighting the significance of co-curricular activities. Such initiatives play a vital role in nurturing teamwork, physical fitness, creativity, innovation, communication skills, and respect for diverse opinions, while also fostering a strong sense of community and helping identify talented youth who can excel in the future. From the
Regional Office Mardan, prizes 🏆🥇🥈🥉 and appreciation certificates were awarded to the position holders in recognition of their outstanding performance.

Distribution of winter Shawls

Khwendo Kor (KK), with the support of UNHCR, distribute essential items among enrolled students at Haripur PSG-083-HR . The distribution included winter shawls for all students from KG to Grade 5, uniforms for Grade 4 and 5, and school bags for Grade 2.
The activity was carried out in the presence of PTC members, and the children were overjoyed to receive these much-needed items. They expressed heartfelt gratitude to Khwendo Kor and UNHCR staff for extending this support during the challenging times faced by Afghan refugees.

Strengthening Refugee Villages School Education: Khwendo Kor Conducts TOT for Field Education Officers in Haripur with UNHCR Support

 

Khwendo Kor conducted a two-day Training of Trainers (TOT) for Field Education Officers in Haripur on 18–19 June 2025 to strengthen RV school management and teaching practices. The training covered FEO roles, school improvement planning, classroom management, and IT integration. Supported by UNHCR, the session fostered collaboration and aimed to enhance educational outcomes in refugee villages.

Black Day: Peshawar School Attack 16th December 2014

Quran States: “Do not consider as dead those who are martyred; rather they are alive and well-provided for in the presence of their Lord.”
December 16 is the Black Day, which continue to remind us the great sacrifices of APS martyrs, APS tragedy united the entire nation against terrorism and religious extremism. In this regard Khwendo Kor pay tribute and solidarity in remembrance of APS martyrs. Children of Khwendo Kor maintained schools in #DistrictHaripur recited Surah e Fatah and Darood Pak Shareef.

Khwendo Kor and Dosti Welfare Organization Dated: 15-12-2022

Upon Khwendo Kor request, Dosti Welfare Organization who provided 500 mini blackboards and 12 large whiteboards withstand to the students of Khwendo Kor community-based schools located at village Chashmai & Musa Khel District Bannu and village Mathra District Peshawar.
Khwendo Kor sincerely thank Dosti Welfare Organization for being so generous in supporting the Khwendo Kor Education Programme for poor students. We also very grateful to Dosti Welfare Organization that thay have considered our request and helped Khwendo Kor for promotion of girls’ education.
We are very thankful to Honorable Bishop Mr. Amar John for his commitment, kindness, and quick response to Khwendo Kor request. We also appreciate his motivational speech to our youth women’s minority group.

International Children Day 2022

In District Haripur Khwendo Kor celebrated INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN DAY 2022 in its all 28 Refugee Village Schools and Accelerated Learning Pathways Centers supported by UNHCR Sub-Office Peshawar with great enthusiasm and participations from children, parents and PTC. Children encouraged to actively participate in different joy full activities such as;
Arm resettling, Hide n seeks, Musical chairs, Tug of war, Chundro, Race, Ludo, Bantay, Cricket, Spoon Race, Bloon Blowing, March Pass, Food Competition, Painting and Drawing Competition, Mandi Competition, Quiz Competition, Traditional Dress Exhibition, Cultural Dance, Food Stalls, Puppet Shows and much more….
Direction from Mr. Fahad Saleem (Project Coordinator Khwendo Kor and Ms. Kehkishan Rani (District Haripur Regional Education Officer-Khwendo Kor) along her team involved Parent Teachers Association who arranged this event with the support of teachers made this day glorious and special. Gifts and awards were distributed among the children.

16 Days of Activism Dated: 03-12-2022

Khwendo Kor has marked 16 days of activism to end violence against women (VAW) let us join hands to work for women’s equal access to basic human rights and raise their standard of living. In this context Khwendo Kor organized different events in its maintained schools in District Haripur, Mardan,, Sawbi, Chakdara, Dir Lower, Buner. KP Province, the message from refugees boys and girls marking #16Days was clear -We must unite to end gender-based violence against women and girls. Khwendo Kor will continue to #OrangeTheWorld.
